Customer – King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital.,
Location – Parel, Mumbai

Founded in 1926, the Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College (GSMC) and the King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital are amongst the foremost teaching and medical care providing institutions in India. With about 390 staff physicians and 550 resident doctors, the 1800 bedded hospital treats about 1.8 million out-patients and 85,000 in-patients annually and provides both basic care and advanced treatment facilities in all fields of medicine and surgery.
There is a round the clock demand of hot water in there Gynecology ward at a temperature of 60c . To meet this demand initially they installed a centralized geyser system of 6kW. The total power consumption of this centralized geyser system was approx______. Due to the continuous rise in the price of electricity unit, the Hospital Management decided to use solar water heating system to save energy cost.

The total hot water consumption by the gynecology ward was 15,000LPD(Liters Per Day).In order to meet this demand we installed Forced circulation system consisting of following components,
  Flat Plate Collectors(FPC) 96 nos
  Insulated Hot water main tank of 12,000Ltrs
  Insulated Hot water calorific tank of 3000Ltrs with Heater coils of 3kW
  Pumps Each of 1.5 hp 2 nos.

  LLC -2 Pump Manager
  Plumbing (NRV,Stainer,Air release valve.PRV, water meter)
